Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy covers the Rally iOS app, rally.london, and the related services used to operate Rally. Rally is operated by Qingpeng Liu in the United Kingdom. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@rally.london.
Rally is currently a London-focused tennis service. Making the app downloadable from an App Store outside the United Kingdom allows people with a non-UK Apple Account to use the London service; it does not mean that Rally offers local court or game coverage in that country or region.
Information you provide
- Account information such as your name, email address, Rally user ID, authentication details, and any information returned by Sign in with Apple when you choose that sign-in method.
- Profile information such as your photo, biography, tennis level, home court or area, location, visibility choices, reliability information, and social links you choose to add.
- Content you create in Rally, including games, join requests, direct and group messages, reviews, reports, blocks, and profile updates.
- Support requests and any information you send to support@rally.london.
Location and venue information
If you grant location permission or choose a location, Rally may process your current coordinates, a saved profile location, postcode, and court or game coordinates. We use this information to centre the map, show nearby players, games, and courts, and support court check-ins. You can deny or later disable location access in iOS Settings, although nearby and check-in features may then be unavailable.
Your exact current device location is not displayed publicly. A profile area, home court, game venue, or distance may be shown to other users according to the feature and the visibility choices you make.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and security information such as IP address, device and operating-system information, sign-in events, and fraud or abuse-prevention signals.
- A Rally installation identifier and an Apple Push Notification service device token when you enable push notifications. These are linked to your account so Rally can deliver and revoke notifications for that installation.
- Product interaction information about how Rally features are used, together with crash and performance diagnostics used to maintain and improve the service.
Why we process information
- To perform our agreement with you by creating your account and providing profiles, discovery, games, requests, chat, reminders, notifications, and account controls.
- With your consent or at your direction, where required, for optional features such as location access, push notifications, profile visibility, and connected services.
- For our legitimate interests in securing Rally, preventing fraud and abuse, moderating content, supporting users, diagnosing failures, and understanding and improving the service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Public profiles, games, and messages
Profile fields that you make visible, games you host or join, reviews, and participation information can be shown to other Rally users. Direct and group messages are shown to their intended participants and may be processed for delivery, safety filtering, reporting, and moderation.
Please do not post another person’s private information without permission. Visibility controls reduce discovery but do not make information private when you deliberately share it in a game, profile, or conversation.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for cross-app advertising tracking. We use service providers to operate Rally, including Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; Fly.io for the mobile API and workers; Vercel for the website and web services; Resend for email; Sentry for error and performance monitoring; and Apple for Sign in with Apple, MapKit, and push notifications. LinkedIn processes information under its own terms if you choose to connect it.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect Rally or its users, to investigate abuse, or as part of a financing, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service. Providers may only process information for the services they supply to Rally or as otherwise described in their own notices where they act independently.
International processing
Rally is operated from the United Kingdom, and our providers may process information in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or another country where they operate. Where data-protection law requires it, we use an applicable transfer mechanism such as an adequacy decision or contractual safeguards.
Retention and account deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Rally, protect users, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed.
You can delete your account from Profile > Settings > Delete Account. Rally removes private account data and anonymises shared records that must remain coherent for other users, such as certain game or review history. Safety reports and limited security records may be retained where necessary to protect users, document moderation decisions, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
Send a request to support@rally.london. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it.
- Update profile, discovery, privacy, and notification settings in Rally, and control location and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- Ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your information where applicable.
- Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or, where applicable, the data-protection authority in the country or region where you live or work.
Security and changes
We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect Rally information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in details and verification codes private and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
We may update this policy as Rally or applicable requirements change. We will revise the date on this page and take additional steps when a material change requires notice or consent.
